I have been researching my family tree for a little over 30 years, and I have hit a brick wall with Elijah Griffith/Griffin and Eunice Dawson. I would love to find out his parents and go further back if possible. Elijah Griffith was born 1754 in Maryland and died 17 Jan, 1820 in Sussex County, Delaware (he was buried on a friends farm that he was staying with). Elijah's was illiterate but did state his last name was Griffith/Griffin. Some of the family took the name Griffin later. Elijah served in the Revolutionary War and received a pension as did his wife after he passed away. There is numerous documents with his proving his service to receive a pension. There is even two letters he had someone pen to his wife, which helped prove his service! His children were Francis Griffin, Isaiah Griffin, Betsy Griffin, Martin Griffin (my descendant), Tamsy Griffin and Annie Griffin. His wife Eunice "Nicey" Dawson was born about 1758 and passed away in 1853. I have him marrying on 13 Oct, 1778 in Caroline County, Maryland, then Residence 1793 Philadelphia, 1800 Sussex, Delaware, 1810 Sussex, Delaware, 1818 Sussex, Delaware until 1820 Sussex, Delaware. I've also taken the Griffin DNA and joined the project, but it seems that I am the only one from his descendants to take the test! Please help if you can, I've really appreciate it! It would be nice after all these years to know for sure where my family came from before British America. Thank you in advance and God Bless.

Can you provide a link to their profiles? You can just copy and paste the link into a reply here.

Hi Carol, are the profiles on Geni?

No, I have them on LDS-Family Tree. I also have them on Ancestry, but I switched to LDS so anyone could access them for free.

Those are the correct Elijah Griffin/Griffith and Eunice Dawson Griffin, you did find them Dan Cornett. I'd love to find the parents of either of these two. I also have information on each of their children (I tried to go sideways to be able to go further back). Please let me know if you find anything. Family history states that Elijah came from Delaware, but I've never been able to prove that. When Eunice Griffin and her two sons moved on, Elijah was left behind.. If Elijah's family was still around, I think he would have moved in with ANY of his relatives, instead he stayed and passed away on a farm that was owned by a friend.
