Possibly bad data in the tree

I am finding two sets of records (multiple of each) for Wesley Ball 1797-04-27 -- 1875-04-24 when searching. One was born in Alexandria, VA to Moses and Elizabeth Ball (Yeary). The other was born in Russell, VA or Alexandria, VA (depending on the record) to George and Elizabeth Ball (Tunnell).

It seems odd to me that two people with the same name, birth date, and death date, and mother's name (other than the maiden name) would be born in VA (possibly the same place). I suspect that these are duplicate records but one set has bad data. I am unsure as to how to verify this and - if it is bad - unsure how to fix it as well.

Any help would be appreciated.
