Ellison Underwood was my 2nd G-Grandfather. His full name was Barrington Ellison Underwood. Born 1836 in Macon County, NC, and died about 1864 during the civil war. My grandmother (his granddaughter) said he died near Atlanta, Ga and is buried in Old Soldiers cemetery, which I have not been able to locate. He was married to Martha Matilda Morris ( 1839-1926) in 1859 in Hamilton County, TN. They had two children: David Monroe Underwood (1860-1930) and Mary Arbie Underwood (1861-1938). I have been unable to find his civil war records, possibly due to misspelled name.
