I find the SmartCopy tool very useful. I noticed that it could use an update in how it works with the "Find A Grave" pages.
1. When I use SmartCopy on a Geni page to find a grave, it does not copy several fields into the query. In particular, it does not copy the birth or death year, so I have to add it manually, once on the Find a grave web page.
2. When I use SmartCopy to transfer info into Geni, it puts in a reference link to where the data came from but the link is to the old find a grave site (old.findagrave.com) which will be discontinued. Can it create a reference link to the new find a grave web site?

Thank you,

Karel

Karel Ehrlich i have noticed the link directs you to the old Find-a-grave site and have brought this to Jeff's attention.

Copying from Find-a-grave should transfer all dates, provided the dates are entered into the appropriate fields of the Find-a-grave profile. If the dates are just contained in the text section of the Find-a-grave profile there is no way to copy that except manually.

If SC is missing the dates when importing that is a bug that needs checking.

While we are at it, the Enhancement i would most value would being able to edit the name fields of the target profile, we can edit all the location fields of the target and all the name fields of the targets family so why not the target's name fields?

Alex: Click the "eye" icon to expand to see *all* the fields in SmartCopy. (The icon should turn blue.)

The 'Options' permit you to make that the default for yourself, if you prefer it.
