Shyrmivka is 10.7 miles NW of Pohrebyshche. According to a family legend related to Asher Zvi Ginsparg by his maternal grandfather Mordecai Landa (born ca.1850) Count Branitzki had awarded the concession to Rabbi Asher Zvi Zak (born ca.1750) as a reward for him having prayed successfully for rain. The concession remained in the Zak family at least until the days of Mordecai Landa's maternal grandfather Nahum Eliezer Zak (born ca.1825).
