I descend from John Carty (found in the Surry County Tax List in 1771). I have DNA matches with 3 descendants of Mary Carty and Isaiac Salyer but have not found any common DNA with the Daniel McCarty family. I suspect that Mary Carty was not the daughter of Daniel James Carty of Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Virginia.
The question is whether there has been any progress on DNA matching, and whether this branch of the Carty family can participate.
