I need help with this Barker family.
Apparently John Barker of Martin’s Brandon was “not” the master of the ship Abraham, and the man who was, was a son of a William Barker.
Please review the notes in the “about” and attached as sources, and see if we can clarify this better.
Private User Is asking.
There are a lot of profiles missing in this tree, and Visitation is a credible source to base profiles on.
Could use
Visitation of Shropshire, taken in the year of 1623 by Robert Treswell, Somerset Herald and Augustine Vincent - Rouge Crois Pursuivant of Arms. Edited by George Grazebrook F.S.A. and Joun Paul Rylands, Part 1, London 1889. Original in Princetown University" https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=njp.32101075683563&view=1up&...

If anyone wants to do that data entry.
The source doesn’t tell us anything about emigrants to America.
No proof Robert Barker & Catherine Ackworth were the parents of John Barker, of Duxbury & Robert Barker of Duxbury Please do not reconnect as their parents.
However, other sources say he was NOT the shipmaster of the Abraham.
Profile managers, please discuss.
The source I had used previously ls https://www.genealogy.com/ftm/b/a/r/Larry-H-Barker/WEBSITE-0001/UHP...

To get into the book:
The Barkers of Virginia : Captain John Barker, English shipmaster of Surry County, Virginia, his descendants and their kin. Creator Pullen, William E. (William Edward), 1900-.
Advice much appreciated.
Keri Denise Jackson, ♊ Twin "A", GEDMATCH GQ346442C1 - because I recently merged your tree in. Please discuss. :)

1. Thomas Drew, often quoted as coming from Exeter, on the sole basis of a namesake being recorded in the Visitation of Devon. He was more likely to have been the Thomas Drew, bapt. May 7, 1594 (son of Robert) in Stocklinch Ottersay, 30 mls. fom Dunster, Somerset, manor of the Lutterell family. Thomas Drew apparently m. (as her third husband) Frances Ward, relict of (1) William Barker, mariner, (2) Robert Letherland. William Barker, mariner, was a partner of Francis Derick: E 115/117/162.
:)
Our issues are in the Virginia Barkers - trying to ascertain which John Barker was the Master of the ship “Abraham.”
It looks like Capt. William "the Mariner" Barker was of Devon, and his son John Barker had no children.
The argument that John Barker of Martin’s Brandon was “not” a ship captain is that he’s much too young.
However, the source https://content.byui.edu/items/833e7089-1e58-4a8a-9cd8-0765174c7ac1... does identify him as such.
I’m at a standstill on it.
Here’s the page describing it, with citations
