Johannes Kuster - How can someone make a very wrong relationship, and why can we not correct it (remove it)?????

Such errors happens usually as a result of bad merges, and technically it cannot be automatically be flagged as an error (incest).

Any Pro user or curator have access to fix the error by cutting a relationship, but only curators have the tool to fix it by reversing a bad merge.

In any case neither curators or other users fix such "errors" unless getting aware about it and asked kindly to do that.

I would hope that Geni does not have bad merges like this often, FamiySearch has them happen all the time, and it is just wrong, there needs to be better safe guards. I had Geni being better than that, but if your saying it happens here, so be it. It is bad data entry,or bad merge, but either one, it really messed it up. There is no incest, it is someones big error ... for whatever unknown reason. It has a very long reach effect ... and if i am understanding you correctly, each profile has a curator, which this one does, and the curator last note is from years ago and nothing since. the curator was notified just like I was.

Wife and mother-in-law bad merges happens often when people only compare the names and not facts. Anyhow I leave t to the curator of this profile to clean up.

Virgil Maynard Kester III the bad merge must have occurred quite a long time ago. We gained the ability to reverse merges in August 2014. The curator note is dated 2016; the extra Dors wife was added before then.

No, not every profile is curated, and curators for Colonial America help each other out, so I'll try, with your assistance to get this in shape.

As of about a year ago, curated profiles can be relationship locked, so when we're fixed, we'll do that for this family.

Please go into the profile view for Gertrude Kuster actions menu, and resolve data conflicts.

A quick list of her children in her profile "about" would be helpful, and a similar list for her daughter in law.

I'm now working on getting the children into the right generation. You should be able to move them to correct parent pair through the relationship tab "drop down."
