I found this while researching and thought I should share with you.

In the Encyclopedia Navarra it states, "Musa Ibn Musa" to be the father of Oria.

You currently have curated that parents are unknown.

I have also left the file in English on the Oria page.

please review link in last paragraph it states,

Musa Ibn Musa: Shortly after he found death as a result of wounds received in a brawl with his son-in-law in Guadalajara. He left four children, Lubb (Lope) Fortún, Mutarrif and Ismail, and a daughter, Auria (Oria).

can you please review it should be a valid source.

Thank you

So, Private User, you are saying that Urraca is the same person as Awriya binti Musa. I had seen that suggested in a couple of secondary sources, and am inclined to agree with you. However, the source that you cited does not explicitly identify the daughter of Musa ibn Musa as the wife of Fortún Garcés (as much as I wish it did).

I added text from MedLands to the profile of Awriya binti Musa.

If there are additional primary sources not included there, let me know.

So Fortún Garcés el Monje, rey de Pamplona, "Fortoûn ibn Garsiya" are the same as Garcia, who according to Justin also had a son named Musa ibn Garshiya...

I suppose that's one possibility, but not proved. MedLands says:

> GARCÍA, son of --- (-killed in battle Monte Laturce 859). Ibn Hazm names "Awriya" as the daughter of "Musa ibn Musa", adding that she married "Garsiya rey de los Vascos" and names their son "Musa ibn Garsiya"[39]. This García has not otherwise been identified in the families of the early kings of Pamplona/Navarre. One possibility is that the sources have misnamed him and that he is the same person as Galindo Iñíguez, son of Íñigo "Arista" [King] of Pamplona (see below, Part B.), who converted to Islam, probably had a Muslim wife, and is recorded as having a son named Musa. m [AWRIYA], daughter of MUSA ibn Musa. Her parentage and marriage are confirmed by the Chronicon Sebastiani which records that "Muza…genere suo…Garseane" was killed at the battle of Monte Laturce against Ordoño I King of Asturias [in 859][40]. Ibn Hazm names "Awriya" as the daughter of "Musa ibn Musa", adding that she married "Garsiya rey de los Vascos" and names their son "Musa ibn Garsiya"[41].

Hard to see why Garcia would be the same as Fortun Garcés. The names are different, and Fortun Garcés became king in 882, 23 years after Garcia was killed in battle.

Remember these are patronymics. Saying Fortun Garcez and Garcés are the same person would be like saying we've got this Lars Svensson, who must be the same as this Sven over here ;)

Here is a nice summary and discussion about some of the THEORIES about Muslim/Christian descents in Early-Medieval Spain.

None of them have been proved and most of them have substantial defects.
