Are the numbers in parentheses, next to a birth date, source numbers? If so, how do I find the source?

Just looked at two profiles, and no numbers - in parentheses or not - next to the birth date on either.
Can you give a link to a public profile which has them, so we can see what you are referring to?

Thank you for responding. Here's an example:
Benjamin Spencer, born 1735 in RI. Died November 4, 1777 (46).
What is the "(46)"? If it is a soiurce, how do I get to see it? If it is not a source, where are the sources? Basically, how do I get to see sources?

That's the profiles age at the event.

Sources would be in the sources tab if there are any.

Documents are listed on the Media tab. Documents may be linked as sources if it's a fact that Geni supports for source linking. Not all facts on Geni can be linked to sources.

Gillby - the number in parentheses in your example is after the Death Date, not the Birth Date. Sorry I was too dense to realize that was what you meant. Thanks for elaborating and more fully asking what you wanted. Think Jonathan has fully answered you.

Only addendum I would add - also check the Timeline, since some folks add a birth document or census or etc as a Photo in a Timeline Event, and possibly some may add it as a Document tagged to the Timeline Event but not to the Profile. So, if by "source" you meant a document giving info - it could be on the Timeline or in the Media Tab.
