Hi Belinda, My father was Eugene Barlow Ford - born in Franklin Co, Ms. in 1919. His father was Eugene Clairmont Ford - born in Franklin Co , Ms. in 1870. His father was John Martin Ford - born in Liberty, Ms. in 1844. His father was Jesse Evans Ford - born Franklin Co., Ms in 1811. His father was John D. Ford - born in Va. in 1776. His father was Peter Ford - born 1733 in king William, Va. Peter was in American Revolution - DAR # A131476. He was rank of captain with 3rd Company Yorktown. Peter was son of James Ford, Sr. - born 1708 .. his name was also Jacques Faure, Sr and was captain in army - DAR # A040837. His son was James Ford, Jr. - born 1743 in Manakin Town, Va. James Ford Sr is son of Pierre Faure I - born 1675 at Poitou-Charentes, France. Pierre came to Va. aboard the ship Le Nasseau in Mar. 1701.... it was the 4th Huguenot ship to arrive in America. Pierre is son of Daniel Isaac Faure II - born 1647 in LaRochelle, Charente-Maritine, Aquitaine, France. Daniel is son of Isaac Faure - born 1624 in LaRoche Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
I can tell you that this is confusing. It appears the Faure family changed the family name to Ford once they settled in America.
I sure hope this helps you understand the family. If you find/locate something different, please let me know.
