The book of Wallace starting at page 46 describes John Wallace the younger of Craigie who is Catherine Wallace's father. He was quite a rascal and had a long career of strife according to the book of Wallace. His father John Wallace died in 1570 and the will shows that his mother was Lady Maragaret Cunnyngham. John Wallace the younger (father of Catherine) was his heir. On pg 56 details of his marriage and children are listed.John Wallace of Craigie the younger first married Margaret Campbell (daughter of Matthew Campbell of Loudoun) and had issue 5 sons and 2 daughters: John, William, Thomas, James, Robert, Isobel, and Catherine. Margaret Campbell died in May 1597. His second wife was Lady Elizabeth Douglas with no issue of children. (She was the widow of John Lord Maxwell and of Alexander Stewart of Garlies)
