I believe I finally found information on this individual. His profile is here:Mojzesz Fursetzer
The family lived in Kolomyya (modern-day Ukraine). Unsure of Mojzesz Firsetzer himself came over to the US, but his wife Beke (nee Adler) did. I recently found out that Beke died at 32 from a burst appendix, and was buried in Hawthorne, New Jersey.
If there is any other info you are interested in, I am more than happy to share some sources I have found, that were helpful in reconstructing this story.
Best,
Keith
Happy to help! On a related note - do you happen to recognize the individual in this photo: https://www.geni.com/photo/view/6000000030614622505?photo_id=600000...
My family believes that it is either Murray Feuer or Mojzesz Fursetzer, since it was found in an album that belonged to Mildred Maxine Simon, and is likely one of her ancestors on the Firsetzer/Feuer side of the family.
My guess as to why "Firsetzer" became "Feuer" is the fact that names often changed slightly when individuals came through Ellis Island. It was "Firsetzer" back in Ukraine, but the more common "Feuer " upon reaching the US.
