Here is the profile in question.
My Maternal Grandfather Leon Kuhn Leon Jehouda Kuhn
After a year of searching this is what I was able to find out about my grandfather. His timeline is as follows.
From birth to supposed death.
1908 Born Krakow Poland
1930 Moved to Belgium Antwerp
1930-37 learned to be a Furrier and made connections I.E. Saloman Hutterer/Dresner Family etc
1937 April 16 Married Rozalia Kuhn nee Wilhelm
* see note: 1936-1940 Summered at the beaches of Blankenberg and Knokke Knokke which was a Posh area for the people of Belgium to Summer. That means he was making good $$$$ for the time. Was wondering if this was also a safe spot for "Agents" during the war considering its not too far from England 5 hours and 18 min by car At that time ferry?
1940 Nazis invade Belgium they were able to make arrangements to hide underground with his connections.
1943 Dec 18 Rozalia Kuhn nee Wilhelm gave birth to Edith Helen Kuhn my mother Under Nazis control
* See Note 1: 1944 Leon Kuhn was Captured in Belgium Antwerp sent to Mailines transit camp then sent to Auschwitz on transport number 502 Possibly the last train?
** NOTE 2: I need to find out who was on that last train does anyone have any information regarding that?
This last train was stopped en route to Auschwitz several times by the Belgian Resistance. Jews were able to escape.... I cant help but wonder who the high valued resistance member target was on that train at that time? Resistance fighters dont do things for no reason..
1944 Dec 12 xrays at Auschwitz what were they looking for? Pnemonia health or other possibilities such as Diamonds?
Russians closing in on Auschwitz
Supposedly he was on the Last march to Mathausen from Auschwitz.
Feb 22 45 Sent to Mathausen on or Before the last death march between Auschwitz and Mathausen.
Supposedly died at Mathausen not cremated on Feb 22 1945.
*** Note 3 We know he was in good shape when he was sent to Auschwitz as he was captured late.
War ends Sept 2 1945
I am wondering if anyone can fill in the blanks?
Thanks
Lawrence Litwin
