The 2018 Genealogy Congress will be held March 9 - 12, 2018 at the International Convention Center, Sydney, Australia Approximately 500 participants / addicts will be attending the event https://ashm.eventsair.com/QuickEventWebsitePortal/congress2018/gen...
Geni curators will be staffing a table for the duration. Jadranka and Ivanka will be there to cover questions related to Croatian genealogy. Visitors to conferences often line up waiting to talk to us about Geni or just get assistance with genealogy queries.
I need help to tidy up this portal.
It has grown too large and it is a mishmash of everything. I would like to separate projects by reqion first ( I am doing it) but I need help for Diaspora.
It need to be a separate projects with links to individual pages.
Same to be done for other areas: sport, art history.
Please help
Hi Michelle
Start with https://www.geni.com/projects/Croatian-Australians/39043
We hardly have anything there - I am sure we have many of well known profiles on Geni but nothing is linked to a project
Hmmm. I don't really know how I can help that aspect of the portal as I don't work with any Croat-Australians in Genealogy. All my family was born in Hrvatska and when they die we take them back so I don't know how I can help with that.
I do know this - that ACTA Croatia was trying to initiate funds to organize a migration database into Australia. And that the Virtual Museum of Dalmatian Migration. Here is a link.

After reading the page, I see you want us to input family whom migrated here. I do not know the migration dates for my uncle, but both he and my father, as well as my great-grandmother / grandmother / mother - brothers migrated from Croatia here. They are all already in my tree though, so, not exactly sure how to approach adding them to this project?
Filtering the Welcome Wall http://welcomewall.anmm.gov.au/Registrant for entries whose place of origin is recorded as Croatia big up 22 pages of results (approx 400 entries http://welcomewall.anmm.gov.au/Registrant?criteria.FamilyName=&...= ) cross referencing those to Gen profiles before March will be quite a feat.
