That there is at least this one reference to Jane who in Nov. 1686 witnessed the (2nd) wedding of their dau. Ann to Water Forrest, another Quaker, is finally a confirmation of her given name.

Fred Barton What do you think?
There are no other Jane Albersons of this generation... Although this doesn't rate 100% proof, I think it's pretty darn close...

Where Jane ALBERSON witnesses another marriage... This delays the date of her death until after June 16, 1692

Jane Alberson was born Jane Preston... just founnd out today. (!)
She was in an adulterous affair with her brother-in-law prior to becoming involved with Wm. Alberson.

The timeline changes significantly as of today.

New arrangements of the "children" of Wm need to be made.

Did Wm. have anything to do with Jane's bastard child?

There were many Prestons on the Isle of Man
Some were Quakers

Will (a Quaker) baptized a daughter on April 9th, 1657.. or so the record seems to state...

William Preston, Junior, Quaker

Went though the Malew parish register of births, marriages, burials

Lots of Prestons:

As yet unadded to Geni: (from - ''written copy was made by the Rev. Thomas Quayle in 1764, Mr. Quayle, who was Vicar of Onchan, from 1759 to 1798, seems to have made this copy for his own private use.''

## John Gunston and Alice Preston married by Sr. John Crellin 1654
### 1654. = John Gunston & Alice Preston were maryed by Sr John Crellin, by the booke of Common Prayer read altogether on booke. Sir John Crellin was the Vicar of Arbory, and this marriage was probably solemnized in Arbory Church. At any rate it looks as if the Vicar of Malew regarded the use of the Prayer Book, as a very extraordinary and questionable bit of ritualism in those days of the Commonwealth.
## Rob't Caveene buried May 30th 1670 ~• re: "mother of Hon. Caveen"
# Eliz: Preston gnat: (''wife of ?'') Wm. (buried) Dec. 6th, 1664

===notes===
There is also a Mary Preston in the same St. Marks baptism register (1655, no day or month, no parents) same page as William (Jr.) (1654)

I need to include Ellen Sharples in this discussion for purposes of cross-referencing research... along with her husband: Samuel Sharples

There is another narrative that is emerging based on the research I've been doing today.
the father of Samuel Sharples was probably the Deputy Gov. of The Isle of Man, one John Sharples, Deputy Governor of the Isle of Man

Dep. Gov. John Sharples owed his position to James Stanley, 7th Earl of Derby a Royalist of great renown. Stanley can be found on wikipedia. Have such a benefactor gave John Sharples many advantages on the Island. Stanley conferred lands and rents to him.

Today it begins to look like the Prestons were involved with these land holdings on the Isle of Man. When we read above:

# William Preston of the Miln buried April 16th 1676
# William Preston son to John Miln buried Aug 22nd 1682

the key word is Miln.... I need to investigate this further but I think this refers to the milling business... My guess is that members of the Preston family ran mills, perhaps for the Sharples' interests on the Isle of Man... perhaps specifically those that Dep. Gov. Sharples secured.

It's worth a look (IMHO).

looking at this path: https://www.geni.com/path/Hannah-Chandlee+is+related+to+Benjamin-Ch...

It is quite clear why Benjamin Chandlee had more than a passing interest in the Albersons when he wrote back to Ireland c. 1706... Ellen Sharples (Preston) was a near relative ancestor by marriage and her sister Jane Alberson (Preston) had had an affair with Ellen's husband's brother Samuel.
