John Sinclair, of Exeter is said to be an ancestor of Prince Harry's fianceé Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

There's an interesting background story here because John Sinclair was a Scot, captured at the Battle of Dunbar in 1650 fighting from the Crown against Oliver Cromwell.

She also said to be a descendant of John Bean, I. Same story.

Some people might think the story is even better. There's an internet version of John Sinclair's ancestry that says he was a son of Henry Sinclair of Lybster so a great grandson of George Sinclair, 4th Earl of Caithness. As tempting as it, this is no more than a guess. There is no evidence.

So, in my news feed on my home page, all I saw was

Fighting for the crown

Which immediately , in my mind, became

The lion and the unicorn were fighting for the crown.
The lion beat the unicorn all around the town.
Some gave them white bread, some gave them brown;
Some gave them plum cake and drummed them out of town.
