Matthew Patton (Paton) is my 7th great-grandfather. The research I've done to date tells me he was born in 1660 and married Christiane Porteous in 1622, Old Kirk Parish, Midlothian, Scotland.

1. Matthew Patton had two wives:

Bessie Home (Hoome) (Hume) married 6/13/1622

Christian Porteus married 6/19/1639

Better evidence is needed to support as son of Rev. William Patton, M.A. & Margaret Johnstone

He's shown as their son on the Patton compilation:

But locations do not match with Rev. William Patton, and no birth sources are shown.
