I have run into a roadblock with my great, great grandfather, John Monroe. For a while I believed he was from the East Tennessee Monroes.
Recently I have determined his family was from Virginia, and then moved to Illinois. He was born around 1838-39. His mother, unknown was born in Missouri or Kentucky. Any information would be appreciated.
