Managers of Sir Edward Lewis, of the Van,

I am contacting you about this profile: https://www.geni.com/people/Sir-Edward-Lewis-of-the-Van/60000000031...

The profile mentions his wife, Anne Lewis, Lady Beauchamp (nee Sackville) being married a 3rd time and having 5 more children. I think there has been a muddle with the Anne Sackvilles. Sir Edward Lewis married Anne Sackville daughter of Robert Sackville 2nd Earl of Dorset. Sir Henry Glemham was married to Anne Sackville daughter of Thomas Sackville 1st Earl of Dorset. If Anne Sackville had married Henry Glemham after Edward Lewis' death (in 1630) she would have had to have married Henry and had 5 children in 2 years as Henry Glemham died in 1632! Hope that helps....it took me a few calculations, lots of hunting to work this lot out!

Sincerely,

Kelly Rowe

I agree.

Anne Glemham who married Sir Henry Glemham, Kt., MP was the aunt of Anne Lewis, Lady Beauchamp who married 1st to Edward Seymour, Lord Beauchamp and 2nd to Sir Edward Lewis.

The confusion is from this site: http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/SACKVILLE.htm#Anne which conflates aunt / niece.

I'm going to edit the reference out of the Geni profiles. The tree looks correct now but who knows in future.

Good catch.

*From: http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/SACKVILLE.htm#Anne SACKVILLE2 [comment: site claims she married Sir Henry Glemham, Kt., MP but that was her aunt Ann Sackville, daughter of the 1st Earl of Dorset]

Thank you for clearing this up! Too many people with the same name!
