On the tree I manage, I would like to separate the tree of relatives of my daughter's ex-partner (never married) in a way that that family can maintain their tree separate from mine. About 250 are on their tree (they did all that work) and they should manage it if they want to but I don't ! Is there a way to do that? Is there ANY way to remove them from the tree I manage?

Sure there is.

Your daughter's profile, full profile view > relationship tab > bottom of screen, tick off that relationship, remove, save and close.

The two trees are intact but no longer joined at that relationship.

Erica Howton - A Basic Member cannot "split the tree" - or at least, that definitely used to be the case, think still is - so she may need help to remove the relationship.

If that happens, she should post in the sticky discussion https://www.geni.com/discussions/172007 "attention curators please assist"

Thanks for your responses. I can get to the 'Remove' button, but it is grayed out and the function does not work (maybe it's because I have a basic membership with Geni.
I will try to get the attention of a curator and see if someone can do it for me.
