I cannot answer for Leanne, but personally I have stopped accepting management requests, except for close relatives of the requester. Becoming a manager of a locked Master Profile is just a waist of time since becoming a manager does not give you better access, and my bad experience is that if I accept one such request it is followed by 100 new.
Geni is a collaborative site, - if you want full edit access on profiles that is not locked you should send a request to collaborate to one for the profile managers (see the Actions menu of the user profile). That gives you usually full access to the whole line and you avoid sending hundreds of other management requests (which feels like getting spammed).
If a collaborator mis-use this trust he/she can easily be stopped by getting removed as a collaborator, something you cannot do if added as a manager.
