Hello,
I am affraid I can not help you, I live in Italy but I am not Italian. I live in Toscana so it is faraway from Lazio.

You must be patient. You will know something sooner or later.

I know of several places online that can help you with your Italian roots.

italiangenealogy.com has a community of people willing to help you. There are archives on Familysearch. There's also a lady named Mary Tedesco who runs originsitaly.com and will help you find what you are looking for. Don't give up!

The first thing you should do is talk to family members. Then later e-mail the town commune in Italian. There are places that can help you with the letters.

Good luck!

Thanks for your comments!
I think it's harder to find some info when you talk about towns in the past... But I'll do everything I can to see how deep I can go into my family history, starting with your links!

Good luck to you in your search. We actually visited the town just this August where my grandparents are from, spoke to a wonderful young lady at the Torrice town hall and the parish priest. Unfortunately, we were told the records we were looking for were no longer available, that records that old ( my grandfather was born in 1866) had been sent to the regional archives but most have been lost. We made contact with someone who is very likely related as all are with the Bottoni name in Frosinone. She told us that family still in Italy are unable to locate records for her great uncles who had left to start new lives outside of Italy. It just seemed that those who remained lost touch with those who left just as those who left had. Any records she has are those kept by family members. I'm watching your progress and hoping to get some new ideas through your search. :)

I'm looking at the dates of Santino and Lucia. And I´m not a expert, but this should have a good chance to find more info about. Just looking at the dates. Could some give me and others an update which archives are still keeped 100%, because I really hope that for the people born after 1900 all the records are not lost. I know second world war was not a good for the archives and know some records are burned in that period.

I have found the answer in an other discussion. And it looks like or you have to guess and get lucky into finding the rest of the tree or go there yourself to the village and do some researching yourself. As you can find yourself the name Caira is common in that area. And if some dieds in 1988 there are still people alive that still know that person and know of relatives that are still alive and live in Italy.

And connection between the states and village are still strong so finding someone that is willing to translated or doing research in that village is possible.
