I have had a merge to my tree that shows Susannah in my Tree. It states in her profile that she is a full blood Worimi woman. Though her Parents are not Full blood Worimi nor are they Worimi from what i can see.
Can someone clarify this please?

Hi, Kathy, I have had a quick look but some of your tree is private. You appear to come down from Maria Locke who is a Darug Aboriginal woman.
regards,
Julie

Yes i do come from Maria Lock i have a family book with all the family info that has been passed down from my mother to myself.
Though it is the other side of the family, my fathers side, i have had the merge with as i come from Mary Ann Mayers born Mary Ann Perry on that side.
I will try to change settings now, as i did not realize it was on private, thank you.

On this site it says that daughter Mary Ann Perry's mother was an aboriginal woman. https://convictrecords.com.au/convicts/mayers/thomas/115146

I have reversed the merge which merged Susannah BOULTON with the unknown aboriginal woman.
The question now is which of these are the mother of Mary Ann Mayers

Susannah Perry vs Susannah Perry

http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/AUS-CONVICTS/2006-05/... has Mary Ann as part Aboriginal

https://convictrecords.com.au/convicts/mayers/thomas/115146 has Mary Ann as being a half caste aboriginal woman of the Worimi tribe (the daughter of John PERRY convict and an aboriginal mother)

https://www.ancestry.com.au/boards/thread.aspx?mv=flat&m=60&amp... has Mary Ann as Aboriginee. Also states that her death certificate has father as John TERRY and mother unknown

http://australianroyalty.net.au/individual.php?pid=I31454&ged=p... has parents as John PERRY and Susannah BOULTON - references birth certificate V1836165 20

Hi Leanne,
Thank you so much for reversing the merge i had no idea on how to perform that action.
Yes Mary Ann Mayers has been tricky for me.
I started researching my family history over 5 years ago. i started on my Mothers side which is from Robert and Maria Lock. Though my Fathers side i have been researching for around 3 years. I have found a hidden thirst that i now can not stop.

I have found all those above links before also but cant find any info on Mary Ann's Mother or further info on her Father.
I believe Mary Ann is half cast as her Mother is known as a Worimi Woman and her Father was John Perry or John Terry... He was a soldier from what i have worked out. I do have some info on him, i will track down what i have and get back to you.

I had an aunt travel to the area where Mary Ann Mayers and Thomas Mayers lived and spoke with the locals there.
Though we did not find out any further information on Mary Ann but we were given a lot of documentation and photos from a local elderly lady before she passed away.
I am travelling down there in the Christmas holidays to find her grave site as it is hidden on a creek embankment in the Myall lakes area. There is meant to be other family members buried at the same place, but no-one has ever found it. I am hoping to gather some more information about where my blood line comes from.
I tracked down the creek after 3 months of researching, as it is not on any maps, the creek was used for a gold mining project within the area though it was never viable.

Thank you for your help.

Kind Regards, Kathy.

Hello Kathy, I am Paul Fletcher and come from Thomas Mayers and Mary Ann Perry line of the family. I have read the above in great interest. Over the past 5 years or so I have come to a stop with Mary Ann, like yourself. I have visited the Mayers Flat / Bungwahl area a few times in search but have had no luck. I would be interested to view what information you have. My email is fletch54@ozemail.com.au. Hope to hear from you.
Thanks, Paul.

Hi Paul, I have a lot of old paperwork and photo's scanned into my computer, it is the information my aunt had got copies of while visiting the elderly lady at Bungwahl.
The research that lead to stories of the grave sites at the creek was done by myself, and most is bookmarks in my web history and very confusing but i will send a short explanation of how i came across this info. There are also other people/distant family members that believe their family members are buried at the same spot.

How did you go on your visit to Mayers Flat/Bungwahl. It would have been exciting actually going there, i cant wait to go and see what connections i can find.
I am finding it is very tricky finding out information on Mary Ann's parents anywhere on the net.

I am especially interested in Mary Ann's mothers information as i am aboriginal through my other side of my family and even though my mother was taken from her family and nation, my mother made sure we stayed connected to our culture through the local aboriginal people in the area she was sent too ( Port Macquarie - Birpai people).
I was born and have lived in the Port Macquarie area my whole life and in the past 6 years, i have been a part of an aboriginal women's and girls group that is reviving the local language - Gathang, cultural practices and ceremonies. In this time i have learnt the Gathang Language which is actually the language of the Worimi people too.
Which is why i am now gong to the local Area and hopping that i can get a little further than my aunt did, i am hoping to speak to a few elder aboriginal people i have heard of from the area. Some only speak in Gathang, so i am hoping with what i have learnt i may be able to understand and be passed information that others have not been able to ever ask or understand due to the lack of communication due to the language barrier. They may not know of my ancestors but being locals from the area i am hoping they do.

I will send over some information either this evening or tomorrow.

Kind Regards,

Kathy
