Sharon Doubell that is his baptism date. So again his birth can range between 1 day and 18 years.
I suggest we leave the d.o.b. until a correct date can be found with sources.

There is an exception to be made here due to the unique circumstances particular to his family. After it was changed today/yesterday, it now reads his DOB as " estimated between 1687 and 1733 " Which is clearly incorrect, and might lead to incorrect mergers.

He was born after his brother with the same names, and if the DVNs of all his siblings are to be believed as accurate, then he was born late 1712 or 1713. There is a window of opportunity for everyone to be born after the death of their father... that can be rule. I think 1712-1713 should be read here.

:-) I think we have to accept that before in vitro fertilization existed, that window of opportunity was 9 months.
Judi said she was going to work on a better date, so I'm sure she'd welcome your help with that.

Thank you Sharon Doubell.
Private User for the link.

Jan if you or Charmaine can help here today, that will be great.

I have my gardener here and as we have to empty the pool to fix it, I will be in and out the house, but will keep and eye open for any questions to me.

Both of you are very "deeglik" and as long as we have sources, we can continue without doubt.

TY again.

So the window of opportunity for that era being on average closer to 37-38 weeks as also no C-sections those days :), then we require the actual date of death of his father to find the latest possible birth date. Also - may be wrong here - but children were not baptised on the dates they were born with an exception being if it was war time!

Thanks for the reference to his baptism date of 16.8.1713 Charmaine.

I see no source for the death date of his father. Under his father's sources there are both 1712 and 1713 (MyHeritage?) but we now know that the actual date is of importance.

Thanks Jan.

You are indeed correct. A baptism can be anything between 1 day and 18 years.☺

I suggest we change his birth date to "Before 16/8/1713" instead of " estimated between 1687 and 1733 "

Reference to last will and testament https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C9BB-YL61?i=660&am...
I notice that the date given for this in the sources is 5 March 1772. This may also not be the date of his death as indicated on the profile. He could have lived for a while after this date.

Here is his Baptism Notice so you can change it
Mentions His Father Henning Viljoen - His Mother Margrit and a witness Cornelia Viljoen

and [Henning Viljoen, b3c4]
