According to a pedigree published by FamilyCentral, Robert Muir and Jonat Findlay had a son named Alexander Muir who married Janet Allason and went on to have a family. http://www.familycentral.net/index/family.cfm?ref1=5203:390&ref... Another pedigree published by FamilySearch makes a similar claim for her sons William and John. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:3674-DMM

This is not possible, however, because all of Jonat Findlay’s children died before 10 February 1666, the date upon which her widowed husband Robert Muir gave up her testament dative. This is confirmed by the fact that he did not mention any of their children at this time, and by the additional fact that no financial provision was made for surviving children. [National Records of Scotland, Commissary Records of Scotland Testament Dative of Jonet Findlay, reference CC9/7/35 pp. 471-72] Under the law of Scotland, surviving children had the right to expect an equal share in one third of the deceased parent’s moveable estate, but in this case, no division was made.

Robert Muir made his last will and testament on 20 February 1679 but he did not mention any of the children of his first marriage, only three surviving daughters from his second marriage. [National Records of Scotland, Commissary Records of Glasgow, Testament Testamentar of Robert Muir, reference CC9/7/43 pp. 531-34]

I have uploaded a copy of Jonat Finlay’s testament dative to the “Sources” section of her profile but if anyone has difficulty in reading it, I would be pleased to forward a copy.

I would like to alter the family tree of Robert Muir and Jonat Findlay in order to take account of the fact that none of their children survived to adulthood, but before doing so, I would be pleased to have the opinion and suggestions of the other managers of her profile.
