I know that the Rockwell ancestor came over on the John & Mary (IIRC), the same ship that carried a number of famous ancestors including John Gallup, if that helps. There are a number of sites that deal with famous people and I suspect you can easily find Norman Rockwell ancestors throught one of them. Famous Kin is the first place to look. Geni.com is my go-to site for famous people's family trees and also random searches for families of people I "meet" in genealogical searches
Thank you all for your responses to my inquiry re Noadiah Rockwell. I collect documents and letters from the Colonial and Revolutionary eras in the US, and I purchased two small promissory notes both dated 1803 and signed by Noadiah. I try to identify and find historical background on the signers of the documents in my collection. Sometimes it's easy, many times it's not, but it's always interesting and a learning experience for me. I'm retired, and my research helps keep me alert. My hobby takes up several hours of my day! Again, my thanks for your responses!
I am a distant cousin to Norman Rockwell...He is a descendant of Esther (Dutch) Elwell who was the last woman accused of witchcraft in Salem 1692. Here is the link...

Famous Kin is a great site to check out...
Esther's story was shown on TV on "Who do you think you are". They were profiling Sarah Jessica Parker who is also a descendant. Very interesting story about Esther! Her life was spared because those idiot Puritans (yes I am a descendant of them) finally came to their senses and stopped killing women.
