Hubert served in the U.S. Navy in WWII.
He worked at the T&P Shops in Marshall during the 1950s. I remember going with my Aunt Faye at night to pick him up after he finished working Graveyard shift at the T&P Shops. As a child, I thought he worked in the "graveyard" because we entered the shops by driving by a cemetery! Later he went to work for Lone Star Steel.
He lived on the land which had been settled by his grandfather, Andrew Jackson Orme in the 1850s. His widow, Faye McIntosh Ormes lives there now. Faye and Hubert are distant cousins. both are descendants of Naoma Orme Edwards Brown. A.J. Ormes and Florence Edwards were half siblings. Faye is descended from Florence and Hubert is descended from A.J.
