Please review the notes in this profiles "overview" and compare with source information since it's 1915 publication, especially primary records and the findings of Anderson's Great Migration project.

Appreciate the feedback.

And a thank you to THOMAS GRAHAM BLACKETT for calling the source to attention:

"Partridge Genealogy" by George Henry Partridge 1915 -Descendants of George Partridge of Duxbury Massachusetts

If anyone can find an online link it would be helpful.

Errorrs in the 1915 genealogy.

* names RALPH (Rev Ralph Partridge of Duxbury, proven unrelated to George) same date & location JAMES father of George.

* Thomas father of Ralph married 1) Joan 2) Joan Burford - no PATIENCE.

* Rev. Thomas Partridge as brother of www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1558-1603/member/partridge... which is chronologically just about impossible

Here is Rev. Ralph Partridge who is not closely related to George - although they lived in the same town in Massachusetts and their descendants inter married

I've been researching the various connections of the Partridge/Partrich family of Lenham, Kent. I find several researchers, both reputable and casual, have tried to discover and/or force connections between William Partridge, parliamentarian of Bridge, Kent (d.1598), and Rev. Thomas Partridge (d.1605), father of Ralph Partridge (1579-1658), the emigrant to Duxbury, Mass. -- as well as to George Partridge (d.1695) of Plymouth Colony and Duxbury. As for the latter, I have no new information, but I did want to mention a possible lead on the connection between the former two.

William Partridge, according to HOP:
http://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1558-1603/member/pa...
was a son of "Thomas Partridge of Lenham," by his wife Elizabeth Sibbell. This has been known for some time. Something that I think has been overlooked is another parliamentarian, Edward Maplesden of Maidstone (d.1626) - who turns out to be William's nephew:
http://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1604-1629/member/ma...
Edward was a son of Gervase Maplesden, a jurat of Maidstone, by Susanna, daughter of "Thomas Partrich of Lenham, Kent." This is corroborated in the 1619 Visitation of Kent: "Gervasius Maplesden ... [married] Susanna filia Tho[mas] Partrich de Lenha[m]". Judging by Edward's approximate birth ("by 1558"), Susanna is of the same generation as William, and doubtless his sister, although baptismal records have yet to be found.

Regarding a connection to New England, however, I notice that Ralph Partridge of Massachusetts had a brother named Gervase Partrich, cordwainer of London, baptized 28 June 1577 in Sutton Valence, whose 1647 will has proved the origins of his emigrant brother. Several researchers have tried to discover if Gervase and Ralph Partrich/Partridge's father, Thomas (d.1605) was another son of Thomas Partrich of Lenham and Elizabeth Sibbell. If these connections do hold, Gervase Partrich may have been named for his uncle-by-marriage, Gervase Maplesden, who, being a jurat of Maidstone, may be appropriately described as a prominent man that Thomas would want to name his son for.

Of course, onomastics aren't proof; does anyone else have any more insight into these families?
