New information confirmed by Stephen White shows that Ambroise Breau did not arrive in Neguac, NB. Instead he was taken aboard the British warship Syren along with 20 other special prisoner Acadians "deemed more guilty in the conduct towards His Majesty's Subjects in Nova Scotia than any of the other Acadians who had been sent from thence."(South Carolina Council Journal, 26 December 1755, p.589) and sent to Charleston, South Carolina and was shortly thereafter along with 14 others sent to England. He was released along with others in the Spring of 1756 and was able to reach Rochefort, France where he worked as a carpenter until he fell sick on October 13, 1756 and was admitted at the Hôpital de la Marine de Rochefort where he died 7 days later on October 20, 1756. Please refer to Du Grand Dérangement à la Déportation: Nouvelles Perspectives historiques sous la direction de Ronnie-Gilles LeBlanc on the article by Paul Delaney: The Acadians Deported from Chignectou to "Les Carolines" in 1755: Their Origins, Identities and Subsequent Movements, pages 261, 271, 337. This is confirmed by Stephen White Ajouts et Corrections au Dictionnaire généalogique des familles acadiennes Ajouts et corrections(avril 2011): p 277 (avril 2011) Famille de Jean Breau (4) b. Ambroise.
