She is seated in the middle, flanked by a couple of her sisters, I think. Her future husband is Johan (John) Steffensen Brandvold standing behind her. They came to America with her brother, Peter who is standing on the right-hand side. He was supposed to be sort of a chaperone. They were not married until after they arrived in Otter Tail County, Minnesota. Right now I can't find the official marriage document. But they emigrated in 1881 and married quickly. He brought her wedding ring with him from Norway. That ring was worn by her daughter, Jennie Stephenson Brandvold, then by her granddaughter, Marion Belinda Christianson, and then by me, her great grandaughter. I managed to lose it. It was a gold band, but it was worn very thin and had been spliced and welded back together again because it had to be cut off my grandmother's hand after she had a stroke.
