OK, Richard's daughter, Elizabeth Willoughby, is also the MRCA of Frances Hines, (Frances Ellen (Hines) Blythe is your 13th cousin twice removed.) with whom I have a DNA match. Which path is more likely? 21st great-grandfather path, or the 14th great-grandfather path? This may be evidence that yes, Sinah Ball is my grandmother. I also have 3 other DNA cousins who can either be via Sinah Ball, or the Hodges pathway. I must evaluate these to see which pathway is shorter. I do not know how DNA can rule out Sinah Ball, however. But the evidence is mounting that she is likely to be my grandmother because she is 7 generations closer in terms of tying an MRCA to me.
