It is my suspicion that Sender HELFER is related to me through his relationship to Hersch/Hirsch HELFER. Both were born in Brody, Poland, and I believe that they were possibly cousins. Hersch is my 3xgreat-grandfather, who was married to Schifre Ruched/Rebeke. I know that there is a distant relationship on Geni, through the father of my cousin living in Israel (Issy Krein), but I feel that there is a closer relationship yet between these two men. HELFER is the surname of my paternal grandmother - Sime Bruche HELFER, who was married to Salomon Wolf WILDER.
As per the All Galicia Database on the Gesher Galicia website, Sender HELFER was the son of Chaim HELFER . According to my records, both Chaim HELFER and my Hersch/Hirsch HELFER had their first born children in Brody in 1819. Although I have no dates of birth or death for my 3x great-grandfather (Hersch/Hirsch HELFER) - I believe that the families noted above are related through Chaim HELFER - who I believe to be the brother of my 3x great-grandfather. I have written to Thomas Fohl, a curator on Geni and the manager of the profile for Sender HELFER, but have not yet received an answer from him.
Does anyone of the curators believe that this is a valid assumption, since all parties were born and died in Brody, Poland (now Ukraine)?
