Lines of descent from John Bissell

I am having trouble following my line now. The following profile, John Bissell, lll [I pulled this up with a google search], states he's the son of Samuel Bissell & Abigail (Holcomb) Bissell. Which should be correct. However, when I attempt to navigate up through the tree here on Geni, I get to a profile: Capt. John Bissell, Esq. (I believe that the suffix IV should not be there), which shows him as the "Son of John Bissell; John Bissell, III; Abigail Tudor and Abigail Bissell ". I can click on the link for John Bissell and that takes me to the first profile above, but if I am looking in tree view, the "profile" is linked to John Bissell III and appears to be overlaying the "profile" for the one linked to John Bissell, son of Samuel. The one linked to John Bissell III, who seems to be the son John Jr. and Israel/Isreal/Isabel Mason and is showing appears to be a fairly newly created profile, presumably by another cousin who is just entering their tree here and that somehow the 2 different John Bissell profiles are being "matched" as possible duplicates.
