The parents of Rice Hooe are unknown from any primary source. There is an old idea he or Rice Hughes might be a son of Sir John Hughes and Mary Griffith, but they are said to have had a son John who remained in Wales where he was minister.

There is a team working on getting his baptism record.

This work is not new. We can go through it all again, and maybe we need to do that. There will be a Rhys Hughes baptism from the right time, and no evidence he was Rice Hughes, Rice Hooe, or Trader Hughes.

Please do not add relatives to this part of the tree without primary sources and a discussion. There are many pitfalls in this area. Much of it is covering old ground and re-hashing old mistakes.

We re-hashed this with another Rice a couple or years ago and he found no evidence or if he did it was fake.
