We had quite a spirited debate about this a few years ago. I don't find it in the public discussions so it must have been private. That's a shame. I'll see what I can find from that discussion and my old notes.
It's clear the idea the Wyandance theory was an early 20th century theory that didn't pan out when compared to the evidence. It was followed by the Asharoken theory. I'm not persuaded but I agreed to leave the link intact pending further discussion.
