Wihtgar, king of the Isle of Wight - Overview for Whitgar

The overview on this entry does not refer to this king Whitgar. As par the Anglo Saxon chronicles, the Isle of Wight "was later given to his kinsmen, Stuf and Wihtgar (who had supposedly arrived with the West Saxons in 514)". There seems likely to be a lineage of Kings of the Isle of Wight from the mid 500s to the mid 700s at least.
