I am interested in anyone who is thought to have 'jumped ship' when they entered Australia.
I am not sure, but I think my great great grandfather jumped ship from India in about 1855,
but, there was another lot of sailors (11) from the Azores about the same time and my genes
have lots of Azores connections. It would be a good strand to follow and might clear up
uncertainties for others as well.

His name was Manuel Antonio though.

Born in 1836. Matches to the Azores, Portugal and Cape Verde. Have you heard of one from Tasmania. I have a match to one there but a different one.

Manuel Antonio was born in 1836. His ship he was a sailor on the Constitution came out in about 1851.
