Hi - I haven't used SmartCopy in a while. Just did it and while it copied the data, no photos were copied even when I specifically checked the photo box. Is this a known issue? On Chrome.
Thanks,
Jonathan

You have to click on the addon and select the 'Enable photo checkbox auto-selection'

re: image copy

No, you don't have to enable the "auto-selection" of photos; checking the individual 'tick-box' by an image should do the trick.

Note that there may be a bit of delay in the image actually appearing on the Geni profile because the images are "copied in the background" (so it doesn't slow down everything else).

If you have specific examples where:
-- the image is not appearing after 5-10 minutes (it's usually much faster)
and
-- you've re-tried copying a second (later) time, and it still doesn't show up

...then post the link (and the Geni profile link, too, if not a "Smart..." match link) so that it can be investigated. There are some limitations on images which can be copied, but I don't recall precisely what they are.

I concur. Photos are not being copied from Ancestry using Chrome.
Here is one:

I've been seeing a lot of photo errors in the logs due to invalid SSL.

It looks a particular site as most images work fine, but when it happens, it's usually a group. Maybe it's ancestry.

IOError: [Errno socket error] [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:590)

Not sure if I can tell it to ignore verification... I'll look into it.

I concur as well. SC'd 48 profiles in tonight, and only got about a third of the photos. Double-clutching sometimes gets them in on the second pass, sometimes not.

SC is failing the photos from FindAGrave as well. Most of the fails are from Ancestry but not exclusively so.

Thanks for looking into this, much appreciated.

I was copying from Ancestry using Chrome. Last time I tried was about a year ago, when it worked fine.

I updated the photo download code so that it does not verify the ssl certificate. Hopefully this will help the issues.

Thanks. It appears to have solved the issue.
