This Margaret Mary George (Smith) was never married to John Farquhar (1840-1892). Someone has incorrectly merged John Farquhar and Margaret Smith family with Margaret Mary Smith and John George.
Margaret Mary Smith and John George emigrated to Australia in 1853. They lived the rest of their life in Australia. At the time the George family emigrated to Australia, John Farquhar would have been 13 years old, so there is no way any marriage could have taken place. John Farquhar lived the whole of his life in Scotland. So these families cannot be connected.
