Go to this page: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/kb/browse

You already have the information about where he was baptised, so you can enter "Fåberg" in "Local parish", and then select the right years.

I guess this must be his baptism, se number 141: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/kb20070131650477

His parents were not married, and their names was Johannes Olsen and Johanne Olsdatter. I can't interpret the names of the parents farms. Given your information above I guess Johanne later married a man named Andreas Syversen?

The confirmation (approx. 15 years later) can give you more information on where he was born and who his parents were.

If you look at this one (#53); https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/9278/86982/40
then I read the fathers name as Johannes Olsen Storberget, and the mothers as Johanne Olsdatter ... Raanerud.

I do find Johanne Olsdatter as married with Andreas Syversen, with 3 children, in the census of 1865 on the farm Volbakken; https://www.digitalarkivet.no/census/person/pf01038065006913
Ole is not there, might be he was working already or staying by grandparents.
Fo you know his year of immigration? Might be stated on the wedding license or in a census.

I had found this 1865 census report showing Ole Johannessen at age 14 as a Welfare Recipient on the Erlandsdatter farm. https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01038065007189

Hi all,
Ole Johansen Raanerud Mallum looks more or less correct - or you can switch Johansen with Johannessen, since his father was Johannes. Both are OK to use.
About Johannes, the father: his patronym was Olsen and last name Storberget (not Johansen as stated on his geni profile).
I'll try to find more on him and Johanne's parents. Do you mind if I update this directly here on geni - on their profiles?

Here's Johanne's parents and sibbelings in the census of 1865, Ole Gulbrandsen and Anne Marie Johnsdatter Raanerud: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/census/person/pf01052095002586

This is probably the christening of Johannes Olsen Storberget, born July 31, 1809;

parents: Ole and Marit Storberget.

Apologies, i was wrong about Johanne's parents - they are Ole Evensen and Anne Larsdatter Raanerud. Here is Ole with parents in the census of 1801; https://www.digitalarkivet.no/census/person/pf01058257000928
I have corrected this all in the tree here on geni.

Here's the english translation of the 1801 census. It's basically the same url, with an /en added in between: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01058257000928

Mary,
Names in pharenthesis is the birth name/farm.
You can correct the links by deleting the old ones and adding the new ones - that's the easiest way.
