Samuel Henry Duff "The Immigrant" - Why did Samuel Henry take on the Duff surname when his father's surname is shown as Green?

Hi Ruth I didn't add the profile for Samuel Henry Green check with the person who added it ..
However , William Green Duff married Eleanor Dunn they had a child named Samuel Henry Duff 1700 who married Elizabeth Stewart .
Henry Duff was a brother of Robert Duff .

I have read Eleanor Duff had a brother named William Green Duff / he was part of the Noble Guard for William of Orange. ?

I will try and find out more about this family of Green's and Duff's as they are my husbands linage . William Green being my husbands 7th great G. There are Green's and Duff's from this line in KY.
