I am having difficulty in identifying the ancestry of Andrew Muir, indweller in Glasgow, who is noticed in the town’s baptismal records with his wife Janet Corbet during the years 1612-33. If any Geni member can offer any help with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
Lasse Soderstrom Private User believed that Andrew Muir was a son of Sir William Mure of Rowallan and added added him to the Rowallan family tree on 13 January 2017. Anne Brannen Anne Brannen disconnected him on 19 February 2017 and Susan Muir Susan Muir reconnected him again on 14 March 2017. Finally, because I was unable to find any proof of relationship, or any other evidence which might tend to confirm this proposition, I disconnected him from the Rowallan tree on 20 June 2017. Susan Muir Susan Muir reconnected him again on 22 June 2017.
Andrew Muir is the near contemporary of Andrew Muir, schoolmaster in Glasgow Andrew Muir, schoolmaster in Glasgow but the records available for this man and his numerous descendants conclusively shows that he is not the man who married Janet Corbet.
Andrew Muir is also the near contemporary of Andrew Mure, cordiner in Glasgow. In so far as I can tell this man not represented on the Geni family tree. He was enrolled as a burgess and guild brother of the burgh on 26 June 1628, in right of him being the eldest son of James Mure, cordiner, burgess and guild brother of Glasgow https://archive.org/stream/scottishrecordso43scotuoft#page/70/mode/1up but evidence which might prove that he is the same person as Andrew Muir is presently wanting.

I have done some searching on scotlandspeople and have drawn a blank.
I'll wait for others to respond, but if no one can provide a good source for his father being Sir William Mure of Rowallan then his father's name should be changed to N.N. or unknown.
Could also MP Andrew Muir and add relationship locking.
Dear Susan,
You left the following message in the overview for Andrew Muir Andrew Muir, indweller in Glasgow
"This profile was deleted by those with an Agenda. HRH Prince Kieren de Muire has the Master lineages of Clan Muir but unfortunately other people do not want to accept the Truth..."
I am a bit confused. This profile has not been deleted. I did make some additions and corrections in order to distinguish between this man and his namesake Andrew Muir, schoolmaster in Glasgow Andrew Muir, schoolmaster in Glasgow but that is all. As far as I can tell, he is still your claimed ancestor. I would have thought that you would have been pleased that I corrected such a glaring error!
For the record. My only interest in these profiles, other than the fact that I have a particular interest in Glasgow families, is to ensure that the genealogy is correctly identified using authentic records. In order to make sure that any other Geni subscriber with an interest in this profile can follow the evidence I have used, and correct it if they have evidence that is more convincing, I have given full details in the overview, including, where possible, links to published evidence.
I have invited you to share evidence with me on a previous occasion, the Geni World tree is a collaborative effort after all, but I was disappointed when I did not receive a reply. Perhaps you would agree to share your evidence for these profiles now, since you seem to disagree with the identifications I have made (although you did not say what it was that you disagreed with), or persuade HRH Prince Kieren de Muire to share the evidence he has uncovered for his Master Lineages. For my part, I would be happy to accept correction.
Yours Sincerely,
Neil
