Oslawer (Lawer in US)

I have a Noah Nathan Oslawer, wife Pesie Pepy Kessler, and their three children Freidy, Reisyl Rose and Samuel Sal Oslawer/Lawer as being all born and/or residing in Pystan per Noah's 1928 Naturalization document.

This family turned up in my husband's tree when researching the Alsauer family - and the gazillion spellings of this surname. I found a reference to Providence RI, when my husband's paternal side settled, but I can't make any link to his family.

Samuel Oslawer, Noah's son, now goes by the name Sal Lawer. He passed in 1998, his wife in 1994. They have a son and a daughter. I've emailed with the daughter by she has nothing in the way of family records.

I haven't added of these people to my tree since I can't link them.

On my tree a few of the Aslauer family were born in Czernowitz. Some family members say the only thing they know is the family came from the Ukraine area.

Some JewishGen records show an Aslauer/Oslauer/Oslower family in Kosow (Kosiv) in the 1800-1900s but, again, no links to husband's family.

This is such an uncommon name - there are very, very few in the US, and almost no records in Europe/Ukraine.
