I guess that Jochim (or Joachim) von der Lippe belongs here:

I became interested in him because I have an ancestor by that name, who is probably two generations earlier and might be an ancestor of that Joachim. He is also from Bremen and is probably from the same family, see Jochim von der Lippe.
I am interested in the historical connection between the Hanse merchants and the later "Übersee-Kaufleute" from cities like Bremen. There seems to be a connection from the Hanse-time to later oversees merchants, active well into the 19th century in the trade with america or other places. Finally, the same milieu seems to have played a role in the emergence of German colonialism (e.g. the mentioned von der Lippe (the older) is an ancestor of the Payeken/Pajeken family in Bremen. Some Pajekens are related or ancestral to some people from the Noltenius family, who in turn are related (through the von Lingen family) to the Lüderitz family of Adolf Lüderitz who played a key role in the founding of the "Deutsch Süd-West-Afrika-colony (today Namibia). There seems to be a historical connection from the Hanse to the development of colonialism.
