This profile has gone through a series of changes due to conflicting information from merges. Do you have any sources to verify the data on the profile? Please contribute to this discussion if you have any sources or information.

1. HIS NAME. It would be unusual to have both a first and middle name as Jervice. When I looked at the changes caused by the various managers and merges, it appears that at least one manager had his name as William Jervice with his father having the same name. The Jervice appears twice because the merging of William Jervice with Jervice resulted in Jervice Jervice.
Does anyone have a source whether his name is William Jervice and he was called Jervice or whether his first name was Jervice?

2. DATE OF DEATH: His date of burial appears as Aug 9, 1638 but at one time someone had 1648 as date of death. Is there any source you have that has date of death/burial?

3. PLACE OF DEATH: His place of death on Find a Grave (as well as other Genealogy sites) ( https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=169141688) is the Plymouth Colony, Mass. The current profile has England. FYI - "The United Kingdom" is an incorrect designation and should be erased since it was only formed in 1707. Does anyone have emigration records or proof of place of death - England versus the Plymouth Colony.

Thanks for your contributions to Geni and this profile. Jim

Thanks for bringing up these issues. Here is what I found.

1. Name - There are 82 trees on Ancestry.com for Jervice. Only 2 shows his name as William Jervice. The source is other trees, which cite other trees. However, I found the following records:

This one is Genealogical Guide to the Early Settlers of America.
It shows Jervice and William separately. https://books.google.com/books?id=cSrlHHj2AFcC&pg=PA315&lpg...

This link is for The Great Migration: Immigrants to New England 1634-1635. Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2001-2009. Volume IV, 475p. It is only a record and not an actual copy. The record shows William Large and then below that in parenthesis it shows William Jervice Large.

A genealogical dict. of the first settlers of New England, showing three generations of those who came before May, 1692. By James Savage. Boston. 1861. (4v.)v.3: 56. This shows Jervice born 1590, but itis a rcord, not actual documentation.

William Large arrived in 1635, with a wife. http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&db=pili354&a...

Although the Large family was in Massachusetts, I found this Quaker Monthly Meeting Record 1681-1935, in Bucks County, PA.
http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&db=QuakerMee...

Here is a death record for Jervice Large, died 8/9/1636. (Church and Town Records)
http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&db=MATownVit...

This list a William Large that was born in 1600 in Massachusetts. It couldn't be the son of Jervice, if he arrived in 1636.

2. Date of death. The confusion is because of two different Find a Grave profiles, which have different dates. One says burial unknown and that his name is Jervice "John" Large. The other one just says Jervice and that he is buried in Men of Kent Cemetery, Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.

I believe his name is Jervice and he died in 1636 in Massachusetts.
