Hi all! Thank you for sharing all of this! I know Johannes Nicholai Tornburg is my 8th grandfather, and it is soo sad and yet interesting about the history of family that I did not know about, one day I would love to visit my homeland! My grandmother is Ruth Hazel Wiire, her mother was Wendla Wiire, and her mother was Briita Kaisa Wiire whose father was John Eric tunberg, whose father was Henrick Tornburg who married Valborg pietka tiermas, , and so on, look forward to meeting all of my family! Thank you!
Is it possible for Tonya Wright to add her ancestrytree to Geni.com ? So far I can't see whether you are a descendant of Johannes Johansson Tornberg or not. You have not written anything on Geni and not a profile but only yours own.
The spelling of personalnames is not right comparinsing With the names written in the tree at Geni.com . Your "Johannes Nicholai Tornburg" do I reckon shall be Johannes Nicolai Tornberg born 1670. So far I can't tell if you are a descendant of his or not because your tree at Geni.com lacks profiles.
Where in the world do you live ?

It is substance in the familyhistory told by Tonya, but it is not possible for me to read Sources of today. They are not Public. The familystory from 1949 for Briita Tornberg born 1880 Kuusaamo and deseased 1949 NY Mills Minnesota married to John Wiirre is not Public. It is only their descendants who know this. And they are not forced to tell everybody their names etc. Fortunately.
I corrected the names in some profiles.
Private User familyhistory and genealogy is a bliss. Always interesting finding new cousins. Geni takes a bit time to learn to use it. It took me a while too :) Tonya, you can start to fill your tree and maybe someone can then add you to bigger Geni-tree and you can learn more of your ancestors.
Have a beautiful summertime all cousins,
Greetings Saga
Hi all! I have been trying to add the tree, it doesn't seem to work though from my IPad, I will try from my computer, I know the Tornburg and Tunberg spelling is different , when I received my family history booklet the spelling had changed somehow with one of the descendants, I don't know if that changed when they came to America or what, yes Anfred, we have our family reunion in New York mills for John Erick Tunberg who was Briita Kaisa father😀 Which actually is coming up again in July, Thank you all for responses,
In US cencus it is a John Tumburg living in Minnesota. This is the same as Johan Erik Tornberg born 1859 Kuusaamo Finland and dead 1951 New York Mills Minnesota US.
The US census is not of the best when we talk about correctness. Why is it like this? The writer of the US census wrote what he heard and the person himself wanted to have a name in the US which was easy to use. A americaniced name.
All this do genealogy in the US exciting.
