The note by Michael Stanhope in England is wrong in ascribing the 1000 acre patent in 1658 to this Thomas Harris d1672. The Patent was originally granted to the Thomas Harris d1677. This first named head right was John Hardy d1676 who patented 1150 acres in 1666 next to this Thomas Harris patent. He repatented this speculated marshly land in 1662 but abandoned it by 1668 when it was repatented to Col Joseph Bridger. He had received the Plantation in Westover Hundred in Charles City in 1663 from the estate of his deceased brother and had no longer had any interest in the Isle of Wight land. All of the past genealogists who wrongly claimed this 1000 acre patent land for Thomas Harris 1672 wondered why their was no mention of this land in the Will of Thomas Harris d1672. There are several connections of the John Hardy to both Edward Harris d1677 and Thomas Harris d1688.
