Can anyone explain what shepardic jews means? It sounds like they tended sheep. When I read about the family talent for making musical instruments I thought of the part in the bible where describes what each tribes talents and jobs were. Are there and Bassano's still making musical instruments. There's so much to learn about this line of heritage. Your family es especially welcoming to new members, wonderful! Thank you,

You should look at the many profiles with information on the lives of the descending Bassano's in England from the original 5 brothers (instrument makers and musicians) who, courtesy of Henry VIII came to England in 1530's

All of the supposed "evidence" that they were Crypto-Jews seems to be circumstantial. There is no hard evidence that they were Jewish, nor that they came from Spain to Italy.

Do any descendants of the Bassano family show Jewish in their ancestral DNA? I know that in my own DNA Iberian peninsula shows up, which I believe comes from this line.
