Hi, my paternal grandmother was Elizabeth Armstrong b1880s and I have a paper trail back to this Samuel. I'm trying to work back from Samuel. I see his parentage noted here but there's no mention of sources or citations for his birth/parents. Can anyone help?

By the way, I have taken an autosomal DNA test (Family Finder on FTDNA) and do have small matching segments (between 6-7cM) to other Armstrong descendants. Happy to hear from any other Armstrongs who have tested.

Alan, have you ever heard of the Armstrong Clan Assoc.? http://www.armstrongclan.info You should check it out. They are so helpful. There is just a nominal fee.

Thanks for your comments Emylee. Yes, I am a member of Clan Armstrong and found them very helpful in providing known research and taking my research and working with it to discover more. Really impressed. I compared your kit # with mine and the other couple of Armstrongs I had modest matches with. Same outcome - you have low matches in the 3-4 cM region over several segments with them all, but nothing meaningful. 😟 Thanks for info - please keep in touch if you can see validation for Samuel's parents or anything else of interest.
